When The Veil Wears Thin
For everyone who knows me and I do mean everyone, the subject matter for this blog will come as no surprise. It’s October so it can mean only one thing, I’ve gone Hallowe’en crazy. For a lot of people, Christmas is the highlight of the year but not for me, it comes in as a pale second to the 31st October – All Hallow’s Eve.
Over the past two years my love for the witching season has begun to creep into my art, well, creep is putting it mildly, it’s crawling all over it and I think the formation of horror punks, Cadaver Club has only encouraged and sped along that process. The whole idea of Cadaver Club is rooted in Hallowe’en. We dress up in deathly costumes and write songs that would breathe new life into the coldest of corpses. We take great pleasure in writing nasty, cruel lyrics and stitching them onto the best hand clapping, toe tapping, finger snapping punk rock we can come up with. If it doesn’t have a tune we bury it.
